Watching A Family Grow

January 11, 2020

Back in 2015 I had the pleasure of working with Sean and Whitney for their engagement photos. They’re a fun, enthusiastic couple who came to the session fully prepared with ideas and props. They met at Ohio State University so they knew that in addition to their romantic photos, they wanted fun OSU themed photos as well. We had so much fun shooting at Wegerzen Gardens with multiple outfit changes and a constant flow of beautiful moments to capture.

I was thrilled the following year in 2016 when they contacted me to take family portraits with their new baby boy, Patrick. We returned to Wegerzen Gardens for their family portraits. Just as in life, adding a baby to the mix always adds a new, unpredictable element to any endeavor. Although we had some tears, we left with many gorgeous family photos. We were even able to get more adorable OSU themed photos with Patrick dressed as a tiny football!

Just this past October I was graced by the Duffy family once more for updated family portraits with another addition to the family, little Rosa! When I asked them if they wanted to try out a new location, they wanted to maintain our Wegerzen Gardens tradition, and I was happy to oblige. On a bright sunny Sunday we ventured out, now as a party of five, to capture more memories for this growing family. I had so much fun snapping candids of Patrick as a rambunctious toddler, and little Rosa, who was such a trooper through the afternoon. Once again, the whole family dressed in full OSU gear to keep their tradition alive.

I’m so touched that this family continues to trust me in capturing their memories. I love that we have established traditions that allow both them and myself to look back on how they’ve grown. Working with returning clients is always incredibly rewarding. I look forward to continuing to watch this young family grow.

Senior Thesis Exhibition

April 28, 2016

On April 17, 2016 Wright State University held an opening ceremony for the artists featured in the Senior Thesis Show.  I had two framed photographs accepted into the show along with two unframed photographs in a section as a former Arts Gala scholarship recipient.  We were lucky enough to be the first group to show in the brand new Robert and Elaine Stein Gallery at Wright State.  The new facilities were beautiful and everyone's work looked incredible in the new space.  This was a wonderful experience that I was able to share with my family, friends, and classmates.  The show was a great culmination of my time at Wright State.
